Genetics or Environmental?
This is the week where I am on vacation and have planned NOTHING. WOO HOO! So far, we're doing a darn good job of it!
We went up to Middletown today to visit my bestest pal Judy. She's 2 months older than me and I believe even crazier. It's pretty close, anyway! ;) We ate ourselves silly (Judy loves to bake - cookies galore!) and exchanged gifts. Jude - despite her promise to STAY SANE this year went nuts again. Blast her and her mail orders! ;) She gave me this one thing because she KNOWS I hate them. It's sorta like this: A PINK TOOLKIT I LOATHE these things. PINK. Like because I'm female I can't handle a regular tool???
Ok. Had to pause and wipe my eyes laughing at THAT phrase.
Ok. Had to pause again. I need a tissue!
Anyways, Judy heard me ranting against these things awhile back and went immediately online to order me one. Oh, justice WILL be mine. I'm thinking about 3 dozen of these flamingos ... mysteriously appearing in her front yard overnight. I especially like these for their sassy hats.
Now for the Katie story of the day. We've been out running around - Judy's, the Torture Chamber (Physical Therapy), bank. We get home, I get settled into the recliner and I hear crumble crumble crumble.... "Katie? What are you doing?" (no response, just more crumbling) "Kathryn ELIZABETH what ARE you DOING?" "I'm making snow for baby Jesus!" *blink* "WHAT?" "I'm making snow for Baby Jesus - he needs some snow". I get up to investigate and there is a trail of pulverized styrofoam down the hall, through the foyer, into the dining room, and up to the table with the manger.
The kind of styrofoam that breaks down into tiny little pellets? Yeah, that kind. All I could do was laugh! Then we got out the sweeper so she could clean it up :) Except for the snow around baby Jesus. He kinda likes it, I was told.
I opened some gifts from my ex-in-laws (outlaws)... some nice things but this one just slayed me - a box of 4 candles. Ok, that's nice but.. it's clunky so I open it up? There's only 2 candles in there. She'd diviied it up with someone else, apparently - or maybe had already used the other 2. At least take it out of the box that says "four"! *giggle*
I get an email from my dad - my mom has a friend visiting and he's hanging out in the basement. He knows his sister-in-law is coming to visit next week, so he plans to go camping. I guess it doesn't matter where, as long as it isn't there ;)
So - genetics or environment? Either way, my daughter is screwed ;)

oh, the pink tool kit - i've wanted one of those! no kidding, i love pink. my blog is pink! not overdone, but tasteful. have you seen the flamingo ornament picture yet? i'll have to do a write up on that one.
i know, i will put that on my 2006 christmas list for my in-laws.
oh what a sweet girl, snow for Jesus. as long as she keeps Jesus in her heart, no amount of genetics will muck her up.
oh, i forgot - i haven't read your email yet. hubby has been home. i did add you to my netflix, thanks! does that add you to mine as well or do i have to invite you? do you even want invited?
enjoy your time off!
I know what's getting regifted next year! Shame your initial isn't "S", the crazy wench went and got the case personalized :) I just love her, she's such a nut.
Flamingos ROCK. Jude and I usually exchange something flamingo-ish... or snowmen or bears or angels or... ok, we're not picky :) It's the love that counts!
Oooo my first Netflix friend! Yall show up on my list now! Keen! Oh dear - I just realized I've had the same 2 movies checked out for nearly 2 months now. Ooops!
Katie is a sweetie. I told her about our plans for the day and she got all excited that she's going to meet 2 new friends. She ran off with paper and glitter glue to make them cards :) I just love it, how spontaneously she wants to give. *gives her a squishy hug*
Hope you have a great day today!
Oh, and I don't have a thing against pink - but I prefer a nice sturdy tool to these wimpy things. Gimme Craftsman any day :)
well, if they are wimpy - i don't want them. darn it, why can't they make them rough and tough!
